Darmstadt, Germany 08/15/05

Make that 3 countries in 1 day. Today was crazy. Got up in Zurich, drove down to Luzern. It was cold and rainy, about 12 C. Town was pretty, but we stayed near the train station, mainly because it was so cold and many places were closed. It was some holiday. Left there, headed up to Strasburg, France. Parked and walked around. Very quaint, cobblestone roads with shops, a lot like Zurich. Only problem is that today is a Catholic holiday all over, so many things in Luzern and Strasburg were closed. Walked up to the Cathedral Notre Dame (not the famous one) and it is insane. Very gothic and kinda creepy, but beautiful. Inside was amazing. Outside, people marched up to the front of the church chanting and carrying a cross. They danced and sang. I caught on that the holiday had something to do with Mary.

Amanda and I walked along the waterfront and it was very romantic. Drove up to Darmstadt and found a best western. Tomorrow, 9 hour flight home. Somewhat excited to get home, but not looking forward to work..plus still missing Moscow….

Oh yeah, hit 180km/hr (112mph) on the autobahn. And everything in Switzerland is Expensive!! About $6 US for a starbucks mocha.
