Hotel Eridan, Moscow 08/07/05

Body hurts like mad. Must have walked at least 10 miles yesterday. Went to the Kremlin, boat ride on the Moscow river, Christ the Saviour Church, Hard Rock Cafe, Arbat Street, Moscow State University and then back home..

Kremlin-
How cool that place was..inside a giant fortress. 3 main churches were amazing. Inside the churches we saw things that were made in the 14th century which were just amazing. There was a painting of Jesus that was incredible and had been preserved in it’s original form. We got to listen to an orthodox singing group inside one of the churches which was breath-taking. We ended up buying their cd.

The boat ride was nice. Got a good view of the city. Wow is all I can say about Christ the Saviour Church. It gave me chills when I walked in. So amazingly beautiful. There was a service going on, which was interesting to watch. So much artwork and gold. There is a painting at the top of the main tower of the “Father, Son, Holy Spirit” which was beautiful. Today we toured around with Dasha, Lena, Diana, and Cinda. We at at the Hard Rock cafe, then everyone went back to the hotel except for Cinda, Kyle, Amanda, Diana, Dasha and I. We walked down Arbat street and saw breakdancers on the street which was killer. Took the metro up to the university, where diana goes, and then walked a ways to a point which overlooked the city. Got to see the city from above at night. Then the fun began…

We got lost trying to find the metro stop. People were telling us to go one way and then someone would tell us to go the other. We started getting a little bit worried because time was getting closer to when the metro shuts down. After a scare that the stop we finally found was closed, we followed someone to another entrance. Finally made it home after midnight. It was a fun adventure.

I was wearing shorts the day we saw Christ the Savior church and they wouldn’t let me in!! I’m sure God really didn’t mind my legs and tattoos… apparently the Russians thought otherwise

Yeah, I doubt God minds..now that i think of it I had short sleeves and my wrist tattoo but they must not have noticed…We were with a girl in a tank top and they made her cover her shoulders with a cloth.
